Does God have a body? If not, then how can he be known? Is the Father the ‘cause’ of the Son? If he is, then is he greater than the Son? Why do we believe that the Spirit is God?
These are some of the vital questions that Gregory of Nazianzus explores in the five sermons on God and Christ that we will be discussing in the Greystone Reading Room at the Pastors’ Academy. The sermons are wonderfully deep, punchy, and yet concise – the longest is just twenty-seven pages.
Dr Garry Williams will lead a session once a month for five months looking each time at one of Nazianzus' orations. These five sessions will be a great way for a busy pastor to savour some of the riches of patristic theology.
Those signing up will be provided with a copy of the book, and the sessions, on Thursday afternoons, will be a mix of teaching and discussion.
This starts soon, on 28 February 2019 (start delayed from 24 January). More information and booking details are here.
