We run study days separately in Hebrew and in Greek. Attendance at one of these days will help you to maintain and develop your language skills. We aim to deepen your understanding of the Bible and improve your preaching from it.
The Hebrew days are taught by London Seminary’s Vice-Principal, David Green, who lectures in Hebrew and Old Testament.
The Greek days are taught by Neil Martin, Tutor in Biblical Studies for the Pastors' Academy.
All of our language study days involve close work in translation and exegesis. Knowing these languages better can provide you with insights into the meaning and application of the text.
Whatever degree of linguistic ability you bring to a study day, we aim to extend your skills and your ability to apply them. We won’t expose your competence to scrutiny, but we will invite you to participate actively! All the days are intended for pastors with a good level of theological understanding, but they are open to any men or women interested in learning theology for ministry.
The cost of a biblical languages study day is £32.50, which includes lunch. If you are in full-time ministry and would like to attend a study day but would not come because of the cost, please contact us about the possibility of a bursary.
Please note that you must book your study day at least a week before it is due to occur. Bookings made after the booking deadline will cost £37.50, and you may not receive lunch or a hard copy of any handouts.

Language study days begin at 10:30 with coffee and finish at 15:30.
I have found these days a great help to keep going with Biblical languages in the midst of busy ministry life.
